Inline skating or Rollerblading, began here nearly 16 years ago and Skateboarding has been a popular sport in Manly since the early 1970s!

Skating has always been a popular pastime in Manly even back in the late 1800's when Manly Pier had a roller skating rink and much later a half pipe where the popular Water Works now resides.

Manly offers kilometres of smooth flat skating along one of the world's most beautiful beaches. This natural beauty and the healthy lifestyle that Manly offers keeps bringing skaters back week after week and year after year. The popular Spit to Manly Bike network offers not only beachside skating but a safe and fun way to see some of Manly's other charms like the spectacular North Head, Dobroyd Head and the suburbs of Seaforth and Balgowlah.

Manly businesses and locals have developed a skate friendly atmosphere to ensure that you feel welcome in most areas. Skating is permitted in most places with the exception of The Corso and on weekends and public holidays along Marine Parade to Shelly Beach.

Manly Skate Park

For the more adventurous, Manly Skate Park is just a short skate from the beachfront and adds challenge and excitement to your skating experience. The park is comprised of one of the longest standing half pipes in Australia as well as an awesome street course.
