ICMS has been recognized by Manly Council as a leader in Sustainable Business Management.
The International College of Management, Sydney has been recognised as a leader in sustainable business in Manly, by winning two of the five Sustainable Business Awards hosted by Mrs Jean Hay, Mayor of Manly on behalf of Manly Council.
The Manly Sustainable Business Awards program assesses business management practices within the spheres of social, economic and environmental practice. The aim of the Manly Sustainable Business Awards program is to promote corporate responsibility within the local business sector and provide community acknowledgement for outstanding sustainable business management.
The International College of Management, Sydney won awards in Excellence in Sustainable Business Management and Water Management. The College encourages a multitude of sustainable water, waste management, energy efficiency and business management practices like:
· Students and staff are inducted in environmental and recycling procedures and attend a water use efficiency session during orientation
· Housekeeping and ground staff are trained in water saving techniques
· On campus practices include timers installed in showers, drip irrigation in gardens, use of recycled water from stormwater to irrigate lawns
· 90% of all goods and services purchased are Australian made and of that 40-50% are purchased from local suppliers
· Where possible all equipment like heaters, air conditioner units, dishwashers are energy efficient
· On site composting and worm farming

The award for Excellence in Sustainable Business Management is particularly important to us, as it acknowledges the College’s contribution to the community through projects run with charities such as Bear Cottage, and the Hop Skip and Jump shuttle service as well as our work with Djarragung College, in Australia’s north,” said Frank Prestipino, General Manager of The International College of Management, Sydney.
