How to Choose a Supplier for Vehicle Graphics - Car Vinyl Wraps Sydney
Car Wraps Sydney - Car Signage Advice
It can be a confusing and difficult decision choosing the supplier for your vinyl car wrap. A vehicle is not a cheap item and you want to get your car signage right the first time.
Here are some common questions and concerns about car signage and vehicle graphics.
- Will the vinyl damage my car's paintwork?
- What kind of warranty do I get with vehicle signage?
- How much will vehicle graphics cost?
- How good is the car signage supplier?
- Are their materials top quality?
- How long will vehicle graphics last?
To put yourself at ease it’s best to ask questions of your vehicle graphics supplier in an initial meeting. A good operator will have no problem answering confidently and swiftly if they know their stuff!

Car Wraps Sydney - Questions to Ask A Supplier
Ask to see some recently completed work, ask what quality the vinyl is and what kind of overlaminate will be used.
Ask for a quote detailing exactly what you will be getting so there are no surprises when you pick up your vehicle.
Here is the most important information you need to know when discussing your vehicle signage needs.
Which type of Materials for my Car Wrap?
Cast vinyls are the best quality and will not shrink when exposed to heat and UV rays. Some specialty vehicle wrap vinyls have an air egress adhesive which helps eliminate bubbles when applying to a surface.
You must have a matching overlaminate to your vinyl to avoid shrinkage and a high gloss is best for vehicles.
What about Fading with Vinyl Wraps?
Good quality vinyls will not fade or affect your paint and will peel off whenever you require it.
There is a large selection of vinyl colours available to match to your corporate branding but if an exact or acceptable match cannot be made any colour can be digitally printed onto white vinyl to match.
These same digital printers can print full colour, high resolution images onto white vinyl so you can literally have anything you want on your vehicle.
Windows can be covered with a “one way vision” film which allows the driver to see out but with an image on the opposite side.
How Long Will a Car Wrap Last?
As for how long the signage will last, this is influenced by so many factors it’s impossible to give exact information but manufacturers of quality vinyls give a 7 year lifespan for outdoor life on most cast vinyls but exposure to westerly aspects will affect a vinyl faster then a southerly aspect, for example.
It is not uncommon to see vinyls that are 20 or more years old and they can be in surprisingly good shape.
Digital printers use solvent or UV inks and the expected life is 3 years before UV light starts to affect the ink and slowly fading will occur. This is nothing to be overly concerned about as most business vehicles are changed over every 3-4 years.
You now have enough knowledge to go out and confidently find the right supplier for your vehicle graphics. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or for a free quote.
