Fresh from an acclaimed solo tour in the US Hay will be bringing his personal and intimate stage show to the perfectly fitting venue of Lizotte’s Dee Why.

Singer/songwriter extraordinaire/professional surfer Donavan Frankenreiter will be making his way to the Newport Arms for a rare free gig as part of the summer Corona Sessions.

Hailing from California with huge international acclaim, Frankenreiter has been performing for years on the international stage alongside fellow musicians/friends such as Jack Johnson.

The Northern Beaches lifestyle encompasses the music that this great artist produces and the sounds of his songs can be heard frequently on the stereos of many a summer barbeque in our local area whilst sipping beers with mates, fresh from the surf.

Every Sunday at Artichoke Gallery Cafe is ‘Blues Sunday.’ There’s no better way to wind up a busy weekend and wind down before the start of a new working week then to chill out with a few mates over a glass of wine and some amazing food, listening to some live blues.

Artichoke really is one of Manly’s best kept secrets with its cosy atmosphere and relaxed vibe. I highly recommend paying a visit to this niche gallery cafe one Sunday afternoon to see what’s cooking.

The Last Waltz Revival

At last a group of high calibre Sydney musicians are recreating one of the most famous concerts in rock history.

‘THE LAST WALTZ’ was a concert by Canadian rock group ‘THE BAND’ and was the title of Martin Scorcese’s film that captured their final live performance. This concert became one of the most legendary nights in rock history.

But it wasn’t just ‘THE BAND’ that made the event unforgettable. In the words of The Band’s Robbie Robertson ”We invited a few friends to help us take it home”.

Those friends included Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton Emmy Lou Harris, and many more. These artists were some of the greatest musical influences of their time and many generations to follow.

‘THE LAST WALTZ REVIVAL’ is a re-creation of that evening featuring an 11 piece band performing The Band’s most enduring songs and the music of their many legendary guests.
