Stockland Balgowlah Welcomes Malibu Grill
American-style diner serves up feast for Northern Beaches locals!
Manly local Cecily Sargent is recreating the All-American diner experience for a new Northern Beaches neighbourhood.
Cecily has just opened the Malibu Grill restaurant at Stockland Balgowlah, fast becoming a favourite with locals. The former owner of Manly’s iconic Honolulu Grill draws her inspiration from American-style diners.
Her new restaurant, Malibu Grill, features American culinary staples such as Buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup and Huevos Rancheros for breakfast and Baby Back Ribs and Steak Rolls for lunch.

She pays tribute to her new neighbourhood and the coastal theme with the Balgowlah Burger, a mouth-watering lean beef creation topped with bacon and tasty cheese.
Born and raised in Honolulu, Cecily fell in love with a Northern Beaches boy and followed him back Down Under to establish a business in a field that she is passionate about – hospitality. In 1996 the pair opened their first business, Grain Sandwiches, on Manly’s South Steyne before moving onto Honolulu Grill in 2003.
“This is our third successful business on the North Shore since I permanently made the move to Australia,” says Mrs Sargent.

Much like her past business ventures Mrs Sargent says for her the joy of having a local restaurant is that she gets the opportunity to build friendships with her customers.
“My business philosophy has always been to cater to what the locals want and keep delivering what they expect. That’s how you build lasting relationships with them.”
Malibu Grill is open daily from 7:30am.
