6th - 9th, April 2010, Novotel Sydney Manly Pacific

The world of interprofessional and collaborative health care comes to Manly!

From the 6th to the 9th of April 2010 the Novotel Sydney Manly Pacific will play host to a conference of the world leaders in collaborative health care education and practice.

The All Together Better Health international series of conferences have been held in Canada, the UK and Sweden but never in Australia or the Southern hemisphere.

This conference, number 5 in the series, is expected to help shape interprofessional health care education, practice and care in our region and across the world for the next few years.

The conference will be opened by the Mayor of Manly, Jean Hay, and attended by government representatives, universities, health professionals and administrators, consumers and students from Australia and around the world.

The delegates will be working on an outcomes statement to be called the Sydney Interprofessional Declaration and enjoying the beach, ocean and harbour.

While some people may not be familiar with this important health care field, the World Health Organisation has recently said that ‘interprofessional education and collaborative practice can play a significant role in mitigating many of the challenges faced by health systems around the world’.

The organising committee hope that many Manly residents will want to attend this important international conference that is being held right in the centre of their community.
