Why would I attend these presentations?

There are many reasons...maybe you have interest in fitness and the great outdoors... or have you ever wondered what it is like to climb as high as where planes go.... perhaps you remember the first summit of Everest and would like to bring your kids and grandkids....or you may be seeking some extra inspiration in your life...or something different to take the family to or simply you want to support your local community and Bowel Cancer Australia. We think that these events will appeal to anyone, and all who attend will come away with a lasting impression.

How long does it go for? And what is the format?

The evening commences at 6:30, where we will introduce ourselves and then invite Ronnie to commence his presentation. Ronnie has amazing footage, and will recount what it like to climb everest. He is an amazing speaker, and will have you on the edge of your seats. After Ronnie’s presentation there will be an opportunity to have your questions answered by the team! It will conclude by around 8pm.

Who are the Australian Team for the Mount Everest Expedition in 2010?

The Australian team is made up of 3 local Northern Beaches boys, Stephen Bock, Peter Wells (Sydney Weekender presenter) and Darren Robertson. Plus bowel cancer survivor Sandy Hoby, and her husband Brad Jackson. For more info on the team please visit their website www.everest.com.au

Why will it take you there?

We are lucky enough to have world renowned speaker and Everest summiteer Ronnie Muhl bring his amazing summit footage, which will make you feel as though you are climbing up Everest with him.

Who is Ronnie Muhl?

Ronnie Muhl is the team leader for Australian Everest Expedition 2010. He attempted to summit in 2006 and failed only 150 metres from the top, only to return in 2007 and succeed. He is a professional speaker, athlete and adventurer. His website is www.ronniemuhl.com

Why Bowel Cancer Australia?

The team has a very personal connection to BCA, with Stephen losing his father to the disease, and Sandy being a bowel cancer survivor. They aim to raise $200,000 as well heighten awareness of the disease, which is Australia’s second biggest cancer killer.

Why are some of these events held at Col Crawford BMW?

Col Crawford Motors are the major sponsor of the expedition, and have kindly allowed us to use their showroom to hold these fund-raising events.

Can I bring my kids?

Yes! It is suitable for all ages, and we hope that they will follow the team on the live web stream as they attempt to summit! Kids on your lap are free, those that need their own seat require a ticket. Don’t forget that the proceeds of all ticket sales go to charity - Bowel Cancer Australia.

Will parking be available?

At Col Crawford there will some parking available on-site, this is on a first in basis, and is free to all ticket holders. There is also off-street parking available on Roger Street (rear entrance to the dealership). How do I get there by public transport? There are very regular buses to the Col Crawford Motors showroom. Will there be food and beverages available?

At the Col Crawford evenings there will be a mobile snack vendor on site who will have coffee, soft drinks, snacks, sandwiches available for purchase.

Can I buy tickets for other people?

Yes! However, we will have door lists so if the attendee knows what name the ticket was bought in, it would be helpful on the night.

Is there disabled access?

The Col Crawford Motors showroom is a wheelchair accessible venue.
