Manly Surf School -- Learn to Surf from the pros

“Toes on the tail. Toes on the tail” a statement echoing in my mind from the Manly Surf School lesson I had today with Nick and Mike. That being the repeated instruction for my un-surfed toes to remain at the end of my rather large foam surf board.

I could do all this perfectly, on dry land. How about the surf? Almost standing on surfboard

We proceeded into the ocean to put this theory into action - a different story altogether. I tried and tried and you know what, it actually did work. My shaky un-surfed toes gained confidence and momentum. I stood up, albeit briefly and most of my fellow surfee’s did too.

The morning in the surf was full of laughs, sunshine and enthusiasm. Both Nick and Mike were fantastic teachers. Readily available to give advice, push you into a wave, or just let you go for it.

As I dragged my board back to Manly Surf School's Headquarters at North Steyne Surf Club , I thought of friends who might like to give surfing a go.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’d be like to catch a wave or two
, I would highly recommend booking in a lesson with these guys.
