Half Moon Bay farmers Paul Hamilton and Aurora Wilson are the young, energetic farmers at Greenhearts Family Farm CSA. Each week they hand deliver organic fruits, vegetables and Douglas Ranch pasture raised, free range beef and pork, Your Family Farm pasture raised chicken eggs and Hain Ranch Organics pasture raised chickens to families in the San Francisco Bay Area, Oakland, Berkeley, Silicon Vally, San Jose and coastal communities of Pacifica and Half Moon Bay.
Along with organic strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, peaches and apricots, Greenhearts Family Farm CSA also offers exceptional heirloom and hybrid varieties of fruit that never make it onto supermarket shelves.

"We have farmer friends and partners who grow incredible fruit, truly unlike anything you've ever had. Small farms, perfectly ripe fruit, hand picked, the highest organic standards, ethical labor practice, hyper local... fruits like nectaplums and pluots," says Farmer Paul, who has worked for, studied with and apprenticed under some of the the world's foremost organic farmers. "Maybe the farmer has just a stand of a particular variety. That's what we're all about- giving our CSA customers exceptional, legendary fruit from great farmers we know and trust."
And that's just fruit, which varies week to week and changes with the season. Vegetables include everything you'd find at your favorite farmer's market, and some new choices, too. Local asparagus, heirloom fingerling potatoes, Asian cooking greens, broccoli, romanesco, different colored cauliflower, salad greens, spinach, fennel, kohlrabi, heirloom tomatoes and sweet corn complement fresh herbs, peas, green beans, squash, carrots and more.

What is a CSA?
Traditionally, members of a Community Supported Agriculture or CSA program supported local farmers by buying "shares" of future harvests. Paying for shares at the beginning of the year, typically during Winter, gave farmers much needed capital for seeds, equipment and livestock when cash reserves reached their low point.
As the season progressed, members receive their “shares”. Greenhearts Family Farm CSA members receive a discount when they pre-purchase shares by buying a seasonal package. Otherwise they can choose to pay only when they receive a box, which can be once a week, every other week, or once a month. The customer decides!
What’s in a CSA Box?
Greenhearts Family Farm CSA boxes contain environmentally and seasonally appropriate fruits and vegetables, with eggs, chicken, beef, artisanal products and flowers added according to customer choice. Produce is locally sourced from small, organic farms and picked fresh. Poultry, eggs and beef are pasture based, never from cages or feedlots.
