Science Meets Nature in the Beauty Industry
More and more these days Nature is being explored and used to enhance our lives, in beauty, medicine and for health in general.

We all understand the importance of the food we eat, regular exercise, meditation, massage, positive self talk and taking care of our body and mind to maintain youthfulness and health.
But, there is also incredible merit in a lot of what modern science has to offer. The two can live happily together. Why not use the best of what is out there on both fronts? Over the last few years science has come a long way. Sothys, the French skincare company, have introduced a completely organic range, for example. Similarly, Priori, with their organic Coffeeberry, is clinically proven to be extremely high in antioxidants, well above green and even white tea, 98% organic and natural.
Light therapy, so popular today in hospitals and in the beauty therapy arena, has been around for years, and is used in hospital burns units. Infra red sauna technology with its healing properties, removes heavy metals like mercury, nicotine, bad cholesterol and improves the unsightly/unhealthy cellulite so many of us are plagued with. Brilliant results, scientifically proven technology.

There is also the undeniably effective synthesized chemicals like the ASAP Vitamin C which has so many benefits for the skin. Chemical peels are revolutionizing the way we deal with fine lines and wrinkles on the skin and give an amazing glow and radiance to dull and sun damaged skin especially!
In our world today the discerning client wants things quickly, hence results oriented facials and treatments like microdermabrasion, light therapy, chemical peels, synthesized vitamin C, cosmeceuticals, Botox and injectibles- products and treatments that are going to give quickly noticeable and measurable results. A natural look is without a doubt desirable, however we get it. We can cheat a little, or a lot!
Let’s face it, not everyone has been blessed with natural beauty, nor has everyone lived a pure and healthy life. So why not allow for a second chance? Pigmentation, grey hair, wrinkles, sun damage, cellulite, hair loss, saggy body bits, varicose veins, falling chins can all be treated with amazing results! The effect of all these treatments is wonderful, people feel so much better about themselves and others relate to them in a more positive way.
In addition, many of these treatments have improved so much the benefits outweigh any negative side effects.
I came to realize that I happily use “unnatural” enhancers already: capped teeth, root canal, contact lenses, hair colour, blow dried/GHD on my naturally curly hair, makeup, false lashes, lift bras. So why not the other offerings?
Surgery- capped teeth, where would I be without these? And how are they really different from a neck lift or blepharsty? Well, they are not! So bring it on! If it makes us look better, feel better about ourselves, improves our quality of life and is safe, how can we deny them?
