Northern Beaches Dominate Australian Surf Tag Series
The finals of the Jim Beam Surf Tag series were held at North Narrabeen beach recently, with four Northern Beaches Boardriders Clubs qualifying for the main event. Dee Why, Curl Curl, Queenscliff and North Narrabeen, who were fortunate enough to have the event held at their home break.

Although the waves were small there was still some incredible surfing going down. Dee Why and last year’s winners, North Narrabeen soared their way to the final with some big turns and solid surfing, giving them high scores to get them through their heats.
Werri Boardriders ended up taking out the event, with North Narrabeen followed close behind. Dee Why put on a fantastic display as the underdogs of the event, earning themselves a third place. In fourth position was the Gold Coast’s Snapper Rocks with some big name surfers like the current leader of the WCT, Joel Parkinson. It’s awesome to see that two of the four teams in the final were from the Northern Beaches as the event consists of Boardriders Clubs from all over Australia.

Coming soon we chat with Dee Why’s young hot shot Danny Sheather about what it was like surfing against Joel Parkinson and find out the secret behind Dee Why’s great result.
