The Quest Grande Esplanade Our Manly Review
If you need a quality place to stay in Manly, check out this place. First of all, great location: just across the street from the Manly Wharf, and around the corner from the main esplanade that runs from the Wharf and inner harbor beach down to the main ocean-side beach (Manly Surf Beach).
So you can take the ferry from Circular Quay, hop off at Manly, and walk across the street to your room. If you drive, park in the underground lot for free. Don’t worry about arriving early as the check-in time is 2pm, so you can dump your bags, test the bed, and still take in a full afternoon of Manly beach life. Don’t worry about coming back late, the Quest Grande Esplanade offers a 24-hour reception. You also don’t need to worry about sleeping in with a generous check-out time at 10am.
The rooms are excellent. I stayed in a one-bedroom harbor view serviced apartment (studio and two-bedroom apartments also available). This is a truly serviced apartment: fully equipped kitchen, 2 TVs, DVD player, private laundry facilities, wireless internet access, air conditioning, telephone. But the place still felt more like a nice hotel room: spacious open layout with bedroom and small study area set off from a lounge that opens out on to a good-sized balcony facing the Wharf and inner harbor beach. Immaculate bathroom with tub and shower. Decent small gym facility on premises, as well as a couple restaurants (Italian and Spanish). They’ll even do your grocery shopping for you if you like. So, it’s great for small families who want a place with kitchen and laundry, but also made for one-nighters of all kinds.
