Fancy a little spontaneity? I was walking my 'little man' (that is, my pet staffy) on the weekend and started day dreaming about the days of when I used to just get up and spontaneously getaway and do... something exciting.

1. Cook Islands

3. Namibia
We all know it’s the Jolie-Pitt brigade that put this exotic location on the map, and Namibia is fast becoming the rich man’s paradise. 4. Fiji

Another close pacific paradise, and you can be in your hotel room four hours after takeoff. Fiji is a true utopia. There is nothing like a trip to the Mediterranean especially considering the wintery blues that have currently frost bitten the best of us. So if you want to really have a splurge head to the Greek Isles, Santorini, and Southern Italy for a true heat blast or head to Paris for a shopping spree!

9. Hawaii
Just a 12 hour trip across the Pacific and you hit the US state of Hawaii, but don’t worry, Hawaii is not typical ‘USA’, the weather is perfect during August and we think the surf is too! The surf is not your triple crown; 10m swell but if you’re learning it's perfect and the snorkelling is wonderful around the north eastern parts of Oahu. For the adventurous, head to Maui and get hiking.

The beauty of the eastern states of Canada is seen in magazines across the world, beautiful white snow capped peaks and the turquoise blue waters of Lake Louise in Banff, and there is no better time to visit the country to enjoy these nature wonders than now.
