The Top 6... Australian Beaches (Outside Manly Beach that is ...)

Secret Aussie Beaches ... sssshh

You're completely spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches in Australia. Every state has its own little white-sand, crystal blue offering. Beyond Bondi, more than Manly, greater than the Gold Coast there are some beaches Australia is keeping secret... and we've found them...

waterfall bayWaterfall Beach, Albany, WA
It's not like WA doesn't deliver on the waves front, it is home to the mighty Margaret River after all, but not many people know about the azure waters and soft sandy beaches of Waterfall Beach. Travel about 30 east of Albany, and take a sweet hike past Two Peoples Bay. Most of the journey is dirt track, but that's half the adventure. Travel on to Little Beach, through the tiny opening in the rocks and welcome to your own little slice of WA heaven!

stokes bayStokes Bay, Kangaroo Island, SA

People often forget about Kangaroo Island, just a short ferry ride from Adelaide's Glenelg beach, it is loaded with wonderful beach spots. And Stokes Bay is worth seeking out. East of the rocky cove is a walk through the headland, follow it and you'll find a large rock pool, which you can swim in with protection from the surf.

baker's bayBakers Beach, Tas

Ah Tassie, the forgotten of the Aussie states. Surfers have been flocking to Tasmania for decade (despite the freezing conditions) because some of the beaches are so amazing. And Bakers Beach is certainly something special! A mere hour's journey from Launceston, Bakers Beach faces the Bass Strait around to Badger Head. The location is so amazing, it's a wonder that all of the world's billionaires haven't snapped up a piece of its insanely white sand, and rocking surf, luckily it is home to Mother Nature alone.

turquoise bayTurquoise Bay, Exmouth, WA

The name says it all doesn't it? Secluded and untouched, Turquoise Bay is found in the Ningaloo Marine Park about 60 kilometres out of Exmouth. Aptly named with clear water and impossibly white sand, Turquoise Bay gives easy access to the stunning Ningaloo Reef, just metres from shore. Wade into the water at one end of the beach and let the gentle current drift you over the reef for an amazing snorkelling experience.

YuragirYuraygir National Park, NSW

It wouldn't be fair to leave NSW out, since it is home to some seriously amazing (well known) beaches, but it also houses a couple of pristine options like Yuraygir National Park which is just near Yamba on the coast up north and houses a large number of secluded beaches and lake systems. It's great surfing and is just generally quite beautiful. For the fishermen and women it's also a great fishing spot. Bream, mullaway, whiting and flathead are caught in season off the beaches, as well as a variety of rock fish.

spring's beachSprings Beach, Qld
Springs Beach, just south of Agnes Water in Central Queensland, is one of Australia's best-kept holiday secrets. The striking beach fronts the deep blue waters of the Coral Sea and is surrounded by National Park. As one of the most northern surf beaches in Queensland, it's a must for beach lovers and board riders alike seeking secluded, picturesque spots for safe swimming and unbelievable surf breaks.
